After months of anticipation, construction updates and plenty of excitement from families across the UK, Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! is officially opening its gates on March 28th at Alton Towers Resort.

The world’s first Bluey coaster is ready to welcome guests into the colourful, chaotic world of everyone’s favourite animated family - and it’s set to become a standout addition to CBeebies Land.

A Big Day for Little Thrillseekers

Opening day marks a major milestone for the resort, bringing the global hit Bluey into the theme park world in a way that feels playful, energetic and unmistakably true to the show.

The ride centres around one of Bluey’s most beloved episodes and alter-egos - the Grannies - promising plenty of humour and character throughout the experience. While aimed squarely at younger guests, it’s the kind of attraction designed to create those first “proper ride” memories - the ones that spark a lifelong love of theme parks.

And from what we’ve seen so far, this isn’t just a simple retheme - it’s a fully realised Bluey experience.

What the Resort Had to Say

Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers Resort, commented:

“Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! is all about celebrating energy, play and those everyday moments families love about the show.

It’s playful, unexpected and unmistakably Bluey – and we can’t wait to welcome families from March 28 to experience the world’s first Bluey coaster right here at Alton Towers Resort.”

That “world’s first” label is significant. For a show that has become a cultural phenomenon with families worldwide, launching the first-ever Bluey coaster here in the UK is a notable moment for the park.
